About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Senior Database Developer (Oracle & MySQL) with 3–6 years of experience to join our Services team. This is a hands-on database development role focused on designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions for enterprise applications.
The role involves complex SQL/PL/SQL programming, database design, schema optimization, data migrations, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will work closely with application developers, solution architects, and project teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing database solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using Oracle and/or MySQL.
- Develop and maintain complex stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and other database objects.
- Design and optimize relational database schemas based on application requirements.
- Develop and execute database migration scripts for product releases, customer implementations, and upgrades.
- Perform SQL and PL/SQL code optimization to improve database performance and scalability.
- Analyze complex database issues and troubleshoot application-related database problems.
- Develop data migration and transformation scripts while ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Support database deployment, release, and upgrade activities.
- Collaborate with application developers to design efficient and maintainable database solutions.
- Review database code and recommend improvements for performance, maintainability, and reliability.
- Follow database development best practices, coding standards, and version control processes.
- Contribute to improving database architecture, performance, scalability, and overall product quality.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in database development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle or MySQL database development.
- Strong proficiency in PL/SQL programming (Oracle) or equivalent stored procedure development in MySQL.
- Experience with both Oracle and MySQL databases will be an added advantage.
- Strong SQL query writing, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience in designing relational database schemas and data models.
- Hands-on experience developing stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and other database objects.
- Experience with database migration, data conversion, and upgrade activities.
- Good understanding of indexing, query execution plans, and database performance tuning.
- Experience working with JSON and XML data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Liquibase for database versioning and deployments.
- Experience using Git for source code management.
- Exposure to Redis or similar caching technologies.
- Experience working in Agile development teams.
